The term 八直道 is used rather than 八正道 in the Chinese text of the Dharmacakrapravartanasūtra 轉法輪經, the first discourse of the Buddha (T 109; BL 'āryāṣṭāṅgamārga'; Tzu Chuang 2012, pp. 238-241; FGDB '八正道'; Nyanatiloka 1980, 'magga'; DJBT 'Hasshōdō').
